I asked" What shooting game do you play"
He said"Far Cry 2"
I asked"Why is this your favorite game"
He said"Because the realism behind it...Just fun to play...You feel a accomplishment"
I said"What did you mean by "accomplishment"
He said" It feel good to get something done...just having fun"
I said "How do you feel about the violence in these games compared to the real life violence"
He began to try to say things he thought I would want him to say; you can tell he did not want to say the "wrong thing" and be criticized
 I said " what is the excitement you get from playing these games"
He said"...people have to be mature to play these type of games...the things your allowed to do in games  that would be considered immoral to do in real life..do something without being reprimanded for it.....taking someone life in real life is disturbing".

 When I ask Cody about real and fake violence he said that it is okay to play the games as long as you are mature.His answered the questions in a way he thought would please me . I did not think that his answer was true. I think that if I did not tell him that I was doing a interview, he would have answer the questions differently.

Photographers who take these photos up close do have a way of persuading one to view situations that can cause controversy . All of these pictures are from google images. All of them were posted within a week of the actual event.

For example in this photo with out knowing anything about the protest I would automatically think that these two men holding the old man are abusing him. I would think this because the look on the old mans face look like he is in distress. So if I was with the protest I would think that this man does not deserve this kind of treatment even though I have no knowledge of what happened.


But on the other hand when you look at the two pictures below show the
people being disruptive to the community. If I were against the protest I would think
these people are destroying property and being dangerous to society
because they are not sitting down discussing things
they are standing on cars and burning things down.

Overall you can't tell what is the truth and what is not. All you can do is research what is going on and use logic when your are analyzing these photos. Different sources of media will try to say without saying who is right and who is wrong.  

This is the picture of the U.S solider who was shot the other day. I didn't know why or what he got shot for until I decided to research his story, other wise I would have thought he may have did something to provoke the police to use weapons. The point that I'm trying to make is that you will never know unless you go find out on your own.

the Philadelphia ANTI-FRACKING rally, September 2011

I never knew that these kinds of things are happening in your own back yard. I did not know about Fracting until a day ago and to think that this is going to happen in my home town is disturbing.  The most disturbing part is that there are a lot of people in Philadelphia and not that many show up for this rally;not because they do not want to help but they do not know about it. This just proves Noam Chomsky to be right when he talks in his book Media Control majority of the population are the "bewildered herd" and the other part are the "selective class" which makes up a few of the population in society. He also talks about how  the government  works hand-in-hand with the media. He further discuss in the beginning of his book how Walter Lippmann says that you only need a few people to know everything and tell the rest what they need to know, which does give the majority much say  on issues. If people in Philadelphia knew about these kinds of things they would take precaution against what they are trying to do. The public not knowing much about this works at the government advantage of course which makes it difficult for people to find out much on issues that are important to there City.

News reporters was saying things that indicated they did not agree to the decisions made by the supreme court on the case of the federal agents

WE live in a very back wards country ,who say one thing but  mean something else. I also learn that the Feds are not always for the people.

Disney??? Not Disney!!

The movie about Walt Disney was a real shocker. I could not believe that my favorite childhood stories were racist. I was even more shocked when cultures sued or try to sue Disney for their actions. A lot of things were brought to my attention that I never thought about when watching Tarzan, Aladdin or any other classic movie. For example Tarzan was shown first with the White boy in Africa and the Black people were the ones in the back ground, which is ironic because Africa is a primarily Black country. I was even more blown away with the song Arabian Nights, that suggested that Arabs way of living was barbaric. This is also ironic considering what European Americans would do to anyone who was not of "Pure" White descent: Slaves , Inequality in education, I would say they acted in the most barbaric way, police had to guard innocent children from not being beat up by adults during Civil Rights Movements with army tanks. This picture is the picture of the 1957 Central High School.I’m not saying all European Americans are bullies and insensitive to the living conditions many cultures have to face because of the torment they gave people about things as little as education, what I am saying is a lot of them are. The other thing worth blogging about was the different cultures that are not be featured in Disney characters. Constantly you see blonde hair, blue eyes adorable little girls, you rarely see Hispanic, Blacks, Native Americans, and Asians.When children look at this it programs them into  thinking who they should be like, for example a black girl with naturally curly hair want long straight hair which is something she is never going to get. Since she seen it a lot in movies or in her favorite TV show this is what she wants. She does not realize that every little girl is not the same and that it is okay to be different. Blacks are also shown disrespectful, loud, under achieve, rarely has both parents. Hispanics are always shown to be promiscuous and under achieve. Native Americans are shown to have only had certain body parts cover and say “how” all the time, and Asians have squinted, eyes and are sneaky.  Not the white counter parts, they are always shown to be with a family with parents who are always married, loving nice people, always wanting to help, and innocent. How they depict their characters is intentional but why? Why do these shows lie to our children and change how they think of their family. What gives Disney the right to make people think the bad things of these cultures is a representation of these cultures as a whole. They make it as if “white” is the ultimate race, the best color, the symbol for purity, everything that is considered good they have a part of. Which it is not true or fair. Everyone should be on the same level not one better than the other.

Food Porn is not really look at that much, but as seen in class they are still advertising their products. The actors in the show make you see this “normal way of living”. They also make you think in order to fix a good meal for your family; it has to be prepared with love, care, and with the best equipment. You know ,like I know that we do not have the world’s best stoves or pots and pans in our kitchen, but the people that don’t have this stuff and believe they need these items go out and buy them. This is how they get us to buy things all the time. The funny thing is when we buy them it doesn’t work as good as seen on TV. Honestly I think it’s time to wake and see things for what it is. These marketers are using us to buy all types of not useful items. They talk about all the things we need, but what happen to food shelter and clothes being enough. People all over the world are dying from no food at all, and we are over here trying to find the best salt for a bake potato. Seriously are priorities are f**** up.
