Gucci, Fendi, Parda!!

I never was a person to be so into fashion until my late middle school years. I didn't mind wearing dickies or keds or any other not popular brands. I'm not saying that I would wear these brands all the time , but what I am saying I that I didn't mind. Now adays I notice how my choice to look at certain labels before actually purchasung the product. No ma,tter the store I look to see if my jeans are either Levis or American Eagle. They may be corny to some but to me they are good quality of jeans and expensive. To get them I usually have to wait for sells or get lucky enough to find them at the thrift store. My shirts aren't really a big thing are to me. But my jeans and shoes are.My shoes doesn't have to be name brand all the time just cute and comfortable. I guess in middle school I started to want to  be in. I started to wear the things that I saw my friends wearing and people on the streets. When I got to the eleventh I started to realize the change in people personality ,   when they wore certain things of "name brand" ,like me it gave them confidenece. But it gave them a little to much confidence, and I didn't like how they would say things about other because no body was rich. People would do anything for a pair of Parda's( in Philly any ways) . The girls would wear anything with a good name on it , but the thing thats funny is that it is not real. I will rather wear something authentic than the generic brand sold on the street. Once my friend mom had said you don't pay for the clothes you pay for the name, becaue the same things you may see in conway are in rue21.Then I realized it's not what you wear but how you wear it. To be your own person is unique and ironically hard for people to do . People will try to fit in in a heart beat rather than be them sevels, but God made you who you are for a reason . I learn to except myself ,my hair (how thick it is)my skin my religion, that's all apart of me.Check out the geek to chic and see how just a little make up, tight clothes and extra hair can change someone life.

  1. When people talk about name brands and stuff, and buying things just for the label, do you think that people like the stuff better just because it is a name brand or does it actually look better? Why don't less expensive things usually become popular?

  2. What role do you think mass media had played in they way that people come to be so devoted to brands? Is there anything we can do to free ourselves from the trap that Zygmunt Bauman warns we have fallen into?

  4. I feel in public people judge you by the brands you wear. Do you think it is actually possible to wear your own style or brand of clothing because it is comfortable?

  5. @vaughnI think people just like it because of the name band not because of the quality.People make it like the less the price ,the less the value, and the less money you make.

  6. @ Cloud City I think meadia either makes everything seem how they want it to seem, or they exploit the initial meaning of something.Maybe take one day at a time to wear something that is not considered a "name brand" see how you feel and how your actions change.

  7. @Steluchia Thanks Gurl...I like things both because of the label ,and because of the how cute and comfortable they are. More likely if i'm shopping with friends and I come across something comfortable then I'm more likley to get that ,instead of buying something not comfortable and expensive.Plus I'm not rich and expensive things are not worth the money unless I really like them .

  8. Of course, actually I always commend people on wearing their own type of clothing!!! It's what our fashion people go off and decide what's the new trend. My advice is to say go for it and let me know, we definitely can make this into a unique day.
